NO PHYSICAL EVIDENCE…
NO MATCHING DNA…
NO MOTIVE…
NO PRIOR CONVICTIONS…
NO WITNESSES…
YET RYAN FERGUSON IS STILL SERVING A 40 YEAR SENTENCE…
This page is devoted to Ryan’s long fight for justice. Ryan has been behind bars for 9 years for a crime he did not commit, based on ‘evidence’ that has long since been refuted. This young man has spent his entire twenties in prison – and is still awaiting justice…
Ryan was convicted for the 2001 murder of local reporter Kent Heitholt based solely on the testimony of two ‘witnesses’ who have now admitted they committed perjury. There are even members of the original jury who, based on this new evidence, feel Ryan deserves a new trial. Yet Ryan Ferguson remains locked up, a victim of the Missouri justice system.
Ryan’s story has been featured extensively on NBC’s Dateline, CBS’s 48 Hours and in numerous TV reports, magazines and newspapers. People across the world are outraged by Ryan’s case.
This page has been set up to help highlight the wealth of evidence that proves Ryan’s innocence and the deeply flawed Missouri justice system. When you read the full shocking facts in this case it will become evident, Ryan should never have been convicted. It is a stain on the state of Missouri that Ryan is still behind bars.
Ryan is now represented by attorney Kathleen Zellner who has successfully secured the release of many men who have been wrongfully convicted. On January 30th, 2013 Zellner filed Ryan’s latest petition with the Western District Appellate Court in Kansas City. But the people who have kept Ryan behind bars won’t give in easily. We need as much public support as possible to achieve justice for Ryan and help end this young man’s legal nightmare.
