2. Dallas Mallory
Erickson testified he saw and spoke to Dallas Mallory a few minutes after the murder.  He testified that he had seen Mallory stopped at the intersection of Providence and Ash.
Erickson was able to tell police what Dallas was wearing that night. He had been wearing a Police Uniform!

Once the police confirmed this was true they were convinced Dallas must have been at the intersection just as Erickson had told them.

How else would Erickson have known what Dallas was wearing?
This sounded plausible until we located a photograph taken at a party just a few hours before the murder in which Erickson and Mallory are photographed together.

This is how Erickson knew what Dallas Mallory had been wearing that night.

Erickson had seen him at the party earlier that night, not downtown at either intersection as he had stated. This is a link to that photograph    view the facts
Erickson can be seen showing police where he saw Dallas on the interrogation video

But 7 months later after receiving the discovery reports Erickson changed his story to say he had seen Dallas at Providence and Locust heading south in a car with two girls as passengers, still wearing the police uniform.

Is this the person you would want to talk with after committing a murder?  A person wearing a police uniform sitting in a car in the middle of one of Columbia’s busiest streets?

The second location where Erickson says he saw Dallas is 4 blocks south of where he says he saw him in his first story.

Prosecutor Crane did not call Mallory to testify during Ryan’s trial.
Prosecutor Crane did not call Mallory because he already knew he would testify that he never saw Chuck downtown the morning of the murder.
Dallas Mallory had written a sworn affidavit on December 2004 before the trial stating he did not see or talk to Chuck or Ryan downtown that night.

Dallas Mallory finally had the opportunity to testify in Ryan’s Hearing, July 2008.

Dallas testified he never saw or spoke to Chuck or Ryan downtown that night.
Dallas testified that the police yelled at him and threatened to charge him if he didn't cooperate and say what they wanted to hear.
The jury never heard Dallas Mallory’s testimony.
His testimony would have shown again how impossible Chuck Erickson’s story was.
